We had a wonderful weekend at home here in Tyler! Hooray! With all of our traveling lately, it was a nice break to just do "normal" family activities on Saturday...so, we woke up early, got bundled up and ate breakfast...
Then headed out to the soccer field to watch our friends' son play his last game of the season!
Sadie got settled in her V.I.P. seat. "I'm ready for the game to start!"
Here's Eli gettin' ready to play
And now the game begins! Now, Eli throws the ball back into play, with a little coaching from his dad, Danny.
After the game, we headed to old faithful = Chick-fil-A
where we ran into our friends, the Bacons (Andrew & Brooke) who just got back from Israel...they had some great stories
Then out for a stroll through Lowe's, Lifeway bookstore and Marshall's
For my (belated) 29th b-day present, Jason surprised me with tickets to see Brooks & Dunn at the Houston rodeo. So we headed down to Houston last weekend. Thanks honey!
So, Mimi and Poppa watched Sadie and we headed out to Reliant Stadium and the rodeo fairgrounds.
Here we are getting ready to leave (Is Jason squinting or is the photo mid-blink?)
Either way, I'm posting the pic - We have so few of us together.
We got to sit at the Club level - Very nice touch!
That's me, gettin' excited about the show.
But the concert didn't actually start until AFTER the rodeo finals...so we saw bull-riding, bareback riding, barrel racing and team roping.
A shot of the big screen during roping.
So, then the concert began! Yippee!
Here's Brooks playing that harmonica.
and Ronnie Dunn singin' "Only in America"
The crowds were crazy afterward, so we decided to walk around for a bit.
Here is one of my new buddies; he's tired after a long day of being "shown".
We got back about eleven, then dropped into bed. What a fun night!
Last weekend, we had a visit with my parents (Big G and Pearl). Here are some fun shots of Sadie girl with her grandpa and Daddio.
Jason helped to get her dressed...love the knot hat!
and then so more snugglin' while I packed..(hat has been retired at this point)
next, my dad came in to help load the cart, but ended up holding Sadie for a bit...which was also a big help. Then we loaded the cart together. thanks Dad!
We were gone to Houston (to see Jason's parents during PC staff retreat and before our trip), then Colorado, then back to Houston, then back home for a week with my mom. Whew! What fun! Here are some highlights:
HOUSTON
Sadie and Poppa posing for a pic after breakfast.
Lunch courtesy of Mimi (on our very own table and seat).
Down on the floor with Poppa for some stretching
and crawl-practice (well, kind of).
Then over to see Sadie's great-grandmother, Titee (that's Syrian for grandmother).
Here they are visiting. (Sadie is not quite awake yet). How wonderful to spend time with Jason's grandmother!
Happy girl looking at Daddy and hugging Titee...
Before we left Houston, we met our friends, Ben and Mandi, at Red Robin (so GOOD!) to catch up.
(Funny how we didn't get a pic with the adults).
Here is Sadie with her new buddy, their son, Zachary.
COLORADO (I posted a few while we were there, but here are a few more).
Finn and Jack learning a new game on Jason's phone.
Jack babysitting Sadie...and watching a "kid-size" show (as he calls it).
and of course the two babies met for the first time.
Rowan was not yet born the last time we visited:
So Sweet! Are they trying to hold hands?!
We know that our children inherit our DNA, our traits (eye color, hair color, height) but what I didn't know (or realize) is that they have our habits too...even at four months old... and even when sleeping.
Sadie is a great napper and sleeper.
If she isn't sleeping like this..(like Daddy used to when he was little).
She is sleeping like this (like Mommy still does now). So sweet! Yes, she is napping on the mattress pad -- all fitted sheets were dirty and it was nap time. Oh well! She didn't mind.
