First Haircut

(I drafted this a month ago, but you know, things happen...)
We finally made the trip to get Sadie's hair cut for the first time. During Spring Break, while Jason was home, we headed over to for Sadie's appointment.

"Swap Meet"

Over a year ago, I read a fun article in Real Simple (my fav mag) about how to host/have a Swap & Shop party. The objective: gather together with friends and all of their lovely stuff they no longer wear. Then trade (or "shop") for things that are new-to-you. Shopping? For free? Yes! so, I picked a night, whipped up an eVite, and we were off. Last Thursday a fun group of girlies came over and snacked and shopped.

Neiman Marcus it wasn't, but we had a great time of fellowship (while shopping)

Happy ValentiMe's Day!

When I went to get Sadie up yesterday morning she sat straight up grinned,
"Happy Valentime's Day Mommy." Nothing better than that right there.
Photobucket
I had lined up all of her little treasures that had arrived the few days before...(and yes, that is a Thanksgiving placemat. Sadie likes the 'chicken-turkeys')
Photobucket
a few streamers and a big bow on her Valentine chair (her seat at the breakfast table) and Voila!

and we gobbled cinnamon rolls

with rainbow sprinkles of course

what a fun start to the day!

We talked about how this day is really about LOVE and not all of the "stuff" (like birthdays, Christmas, etc). "Yes Mommy, like Jesus and God loves Sadie! And Mommy! and Daddy!" I find myself learning a little something as I attempt to break down larger ideas to my two-year-old sweetie.

And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11

And we're back

After a VERY long "break," this little blog is back.
Ditched the DSL + new cable connection = Ability to easily blog.
Rather than play catch with hundreds (yes, hundreds) of pictures from the last months, let's just begin with today.

We began with puzzles...

Sadie likes to work each one, then break them up, mix them, and start again.

After a little breakfast and some Peppa Pig (our new fav show), it was time for ballet.
Of course, ballet.

Check out my ballet skirt from 1984. Thanks for holding on to it, Ama.

And to finish, first position...sort of. (Notice the cupped hands).
Boy, do I LOVE my girl!

Georgia, Part Two

My sweet friend, Kristen traveled down south (to Mexico) for a destination wedding of one of her long-time friends....so WE (my mom, Jason, Sadie & I) got to have Georgia
(or Gigi, as Sadie says)
"What?! Did someone say my name?"
(check out those delicious arms).
(That's her!) She got to stay & play with us, during the day, for five whole days.
Yippee!
Staring at herself in the camera

Baby G, part 1

Our newest little playmate:

of our dear friends Matt & Kristen.

Sadie absolutely ADORES her.

(Soon I'll do a whole post on Georgia's mini-week stay with us-We had a blast!)

March Madness

No, we did not really get into the NCAA tournament this year.
Our month was crazy...and ridiculously fun.
Photobucket
With some warm weather, we ventured outside more than usual.
Sadie continued her fascination with bubbles.
---------------------------
The Easterhaus fam came to visit for a whole week! and played hard. We love them so very much - these are our people. We ate A LOT of meals and snacks together
Photobucket
as demonstrated by Rowan: apparently PB & J is a-w-e-s-o-m-e.
----------------------------------
On Tuesday night the girls, (Meaghan & I, plus Kristen Hanvey and our buddy, Nicole Hager from Oklahoma) headed out for dinner on the town, then a sleepover in Evergreen, at Pine Cove.

Then, Ama (my mom) came to visit while Jason was gone.

She & Sadie explored McDonald's playground

and "cleaned" (or 'bak-ooom', as Sadie says).

April has been good & busy too, so I'll work hard to keep this baby current!
